It’s funny to think that the last time I had a book published was in 2014. That’s over a decade ago. But I remember it like it was yesterday.
The anticipation of waiting for the box of paperbacks to arrive. The excitement of seeing e-book sales the day it came out. The fulfillment of having wonderful attendance at my launch party/book signing and selling out my copies. And to this day, the positive comments from readers who are looking forward to reading my new thriller, They’re Watching, coming out in January 2027.
My publishing journey began when I submitted a pitch to the Smallpitch event in July of 2025. Shortly after, I received a request for a query, synopsis, and some sample pages from publisher, Creative James Media.
Next came a request for the full manuscript, followed by a Zoom call with CEO, Jean Lowd. And finally, the offer of a contract.
The book went through developmental edits, line edits, copy edits, proofreading, galley edits, cover design, marketing plan meetings, and will soon be released as an ARC (early reader copy) for those who would like to read it and leave a review.
But this week, things started to get real!
My back of the book blurb dropped on Tuesday.
The final cover dropped today (Thursday).
And after keeping everything under wraps until the proper time, I can finally share it with my followers.
I would love to hear what my readers think of my back cover blurb in the comments.
